Amazon has soon announced that its Amazon Alexa 7 Microphone Far-Field Development Kit will soon be open to commercial device manufacturers via an exclusive invitation only program.
Enabling third-party hardware manufacturers to profit coming from the seven microphone system which is incorporated straight into the Amazon Echo personal assistants.

Because the introduction of Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, device makers happen to be asking us to supply the technology and tools to enable a far-field Alexa experience for their products. Using this new reference solution, developers can design products with a similar unique 7-mic circular array, beamforming technology, and voice processing software which have made Amazon Echo so popular with customers. It’s never been easier for device makers to integrate Alexa and provide their customers world-class voice experiences.
The hardware-based reference solution will certainly be supported by leading chipset providers. The answer includes :
• A similar 7-microphone array found in Amazon Echo
• Amazon’s proprietary software for wake word recognition, beamforming, noise reduction, and echo cancellation
• Reference client software for local device control and communication using the Alexa Voice Service
